We're in big trouble

Nice - proves my long-standing point that too many voters on both sides are clueless and borderline retarded (which explains Bush's re-election). The politics of the lowest common denominator. The Republicans generally try to scare stupid people into voting for them (i.e. toying with the terrorism color wheel before the 04 election) while the Democratic tack is always some nebulous form of change/hope. Race is an ever lower reason and it plays on both sides. For every redneck who won't vote for a 'colored' there's someone on the left who thinks 'it's "their" turn' regardless of policies. I just hope for the sake of the country they cancel each other out - I'd hate to see a Bradley type of thing again where Obama goes in with an 8 point lead, exit polls have him still leading by 8 points but then the actual votes turn out in McCain's favor.

Yup. It's on all sides and so ridiculous. I imagine there will be a Bradley Effect to some extent, but it probably won't be enough to dislodge Obama. Don't worry.

However, it is possible that the lefties will be so complacent in their confidence that they are ahead, so may not turn out to the polls as much as indicated. Also, the polls that have him 8 points ahead are the results of registered voters, not likely voters. The likely voter results historically tend to be more accurate and have the race a bit tighter.

But, this is why these "Get Out the Vote" campaigns kill me. If you don't care enough about yourself and country to know what's going on around you, do us all a favor and abstain from making an emotional and uninformed statement with your vote.

It seems to me that everyone should have to take a basic Adam Smith economics class, including information about the Laffer Curve, before they graduate from high school so they would have a better understanding of unintended consequences of seemingly helpful economic policies.

That video is just pathetically sad and, actually , frightening. And we expect those people on the video to understand how treacherous redistribution of wealth is and how futile it is to tax the rich. Who is it who first said he never got a job from a poor person?
